Step-by-Step Programming Instructions:

To program a new transmitter when two are already recognized, ensure the vehicle is off and have all transmitters, old and new, with you.

1. Open the center console and remove the small tray, if applicable. Place the two recognized transmitters in the backup location with buttons facing down.
2. Remove the key lock cylinder cover on the driver door handle. Insert the key of the new transmitter into the cylinder and turn it to the unlock position five times within 10 seconds. The Driver Information Center (DIC) will display READY FOR REMOTE #3, 4, 5, 6, 7, or 8.
3. Open the center console and remove the small tray. Place the new transmitter in the transmitter pocket with buttons facing downward.
4. Press the POWER button to start the vehicle. When the transmitter is learned, the DIC will indicate readiness to program the next one.
5. Remove the transmitter from the pocket and press unlock or lock. To program additional transmitters, repeat steps 3–5. When all are programmed, hold the POWER button for 12 seconds to exit programming mode. 6. Insert the key back into the transmitter.

Programming Instructions without Two Recognized Transmitters: If two recognized transmitters are unavailable, follow these steps to program up to eight transmitters. This feature is not available in Canada. This process takes about 30 minutes and requires all transmitters to be present. 1. Remove the key lock cylinder cover on the driver door handle. Insert the transmitter key into the cylinder and turn it to the unlock position five times within 10 seconds. The DIC will display REMOTE LEARN PENDING, PLEASE WAIT. 2. Wait 10 minutes until the DIC displays PRESS ENGINE START BUTTON TO LEARN, then press the POWER button. The DIC will again show REMOTE LEARN PENDING, PLEASE WAIT. 3. Repeat step 2 two more times. After the third time, previous transmitters will no longer work. The DIC should display READY FOR REMOTE #1. 4. Open the center console, remove the small tray, and place the transmitter in the pocket with buttons facing downward. 5. Press the POWER button to start the vehicle. When the transmitter is learned, the DIC will indicate readiness for the next one. 6. Remove the transmitter and press unlock or lock. Repeat steps 4–6 to program additional transmitters. When finished, hold the POWER button for 12 seconds to exit programming mode and insert the key back into the transmitter.
