Step-by-Step Programming Instructions:

For Yukons with Separate Key and Remote:
If your Yukon has a separate key and remote and is not programmable onboard, follow these steps to program smart key remote fobs:

1. Find an automotive locksmith in your area using LocateALocksmith.com.
2. If your vehicle is still mobile, consider driving to the locksmith to save money instead of having them come to you.
3. The locksmith will connect specialized computer equipment to your vehicle to program the smart key remote fob.

For Yukons with Two Programmed Smart Keys:
If your Yukon already has two programmed smart keys, follow these steps to program a new fob:

1. Remove the key from one of the programmed remotes.
2. Place the programmed remotes in the cup holder or passenger seat.
3. Insert the vehicle key into the key lock cylinder on the driver door handle and turn it counterclockwise to the unlock position five times within 10 seconds. The Driver Information Center (DIC) will display “READY FOR REMOTE #2, 3, 4, ETC.”
4. Place the new remote in the remote pocket/insert located in the center console storage area between the driver and front passenger seats.
5. Press the ENGINE START/STOP button. When the remote is learned, the DIC display will indicate readiness to program the next remote.
6. Remove the remote from the remote pocket and press unlock or lock. To program additional remotes, repeat steps 4–6. When all additional remotes are programmed, press and hold the ENGINE START/STOP button for approximately 12 seconds to exit programming mode.
7. Return the key back into the remote.

For Programming without a Programmed Smart Key:
If there are no currently programmed remotes available, follow this procedure to program up to eight remotes:

1. Remove the vehicle key from the remote.
2. Insert the vehicle key into the key lock cylinder on the driver door handle and turn it counterclockwise to the unlock position five times within 10 seconds. The DIC will display “REMOTE LEARN PENDING, PLEASE WAIT.”
3. Wait for 10 minutes until the DIC displays “PRESS ENGINE START BUTTON TO LEARN,” then press the ENGINE START/STOP button. The DIC will again show “REMOTE LEARN PENDING, PLEASE WAIT.”
4. Repeat step 3 two additional times. After the third time, all previously known remotes will no longer work with the vehicle. Remaining remotes can be relearned during the next steps. The DIC should now show “READY FOR REMOTE #1.”
5. Place the new remote in the remote pocket/insert located in the center console storage area between the driver and front passenger seats.
6. Press the ENGINE START/STOP button. When the remote is learned, the DIC display will indicate readiness to program the next remote.
7. Remove the remote from the remote pocket/insert and press unlock or lock. To program additional remotes, repeat steps 5–7. When all additional remotes are programmed, press and hold the ENGINE START/STOP button for approximately 12 seconds to exit programming mode.
8. Return the key back into the remote.
