Step-by-Step Programming Instructions:

Programming with Two Programmed Keys:

To program a new key:
1. Start by inserting the original, already programmed key into the ignition and turning it to the ON/RUN position.
2. Turn the key to LOCK/OFF and remove it from the ignition.
3. Quickly, within five seconds, insert the second original already programmed key into the ignition and turn it to the ON/RUN position.
4. Insert the new key to be programmed and turn it to the ON/RUN position within five seconds. The security light will turn off once the key has been programmed.
5. Repeat Steps 1–4 if additional keys need to be programmed.

Programming without Two Programmed Keys:

If a programmed key is not available, you can still program a new key to the vehicle. However, Canadian regulations require owners to see their dealer in this case. Follow this procedure to program the first key, which will take approximately 30 minutes to complete. Ensure the vehicle is off and all keys you wish to program are available.

1. Insert the new vehicle key into the ignition.
2. Turn the key to the ON/RUN position. The security light will come on.
3. Wait for 10 minutes until the security light turns off.
4. Turn the ignition to LOCK/OFF.
5. Repeat Steps 2–4 two more times. After the third time, turn the ignition to ON/RUN; the key is learned, and all previously known keys will no longer work with the vehicle.
6. To program the second key, turn the ignition to OFF and insert the second key to be learned. Rotate it to the ON/RUN position. After both keys are learned, any remaining keys can be programmed by following the procedure in “Programming with Two Programmed Keys.”
