Step-by-Step Programming Instructions:

Follow this procedure to program the key part of your flip key. Ensure you have two original keys that start your engine, as this process requires them. If you only have one working key or none at all, it must be programmed by a locksmith. Also, ensure your new third (unprogrammed) key is cut before starting this procedure.

1. Insert a programmed (working) key into the ignition cylinder.
2. Turn the ignition cylinder ON (without starting the engine) and then back to OFF. Keep the ignition in the ON position for about 3 seconds until the security light goes out.
3. Turn the ignition to the OFF position and remove the existing key.
4. Within ten seconds, insert a second programmed (working) key and turn it to ON and then back to OFF. The ignition must remain on for at least 3 seconds until the security light goes out.
5. Turn the ignition to the OFF position and remove the existing key.
6. Insert the new (unprogrammed) key within twenty seconds and turn it to ON. Leave it in the ON position for at least 3 seconds and then turn it back to OFF.
7. The security light will illuminate for three seconds to confirm that the new key has been successfully programmed.

To program the remote part of your flip key, follow these steps:

1. Enter the vehicle and close all doors, then open the driver’s door and leave it open.
2. Within 24 seconds, insert the key into the ignition and turn the ignition switch to ON and then OFF three times, leaving the key in the ignition. Then close and open the driver’s door three times.
3. If done correctly, the doors will automatically lock and then unlock, indicating that the vehicle is in programming mode. If the locks do not cycle, you must restart the procedure.
4. Press the unlock button twice on the first remote to be programmed. The door locks will cycle automatically to confirm successful programming. If there is only one remote to be programmed, you must press any button twice again on the same remote, wait for the locks to cycle, then press any button twice one more time on the same remote. If there are two remotes to be programmed, press any button on the second remote twice, wait for the locks to cycle, then press any button twice again on the second remote. To program three remotes to this vehicle, you must press the button twice on the second remote, wait for the locks to cycle, then press any button twice on the third remote.
5. Programming is now complete. Close the door and test the remotes to ensure proper programming. If you do not have two programmed keys, they will have to be programmed by a locksmith.
