Step-by-Step Programming Instructions:

Follow these steps if you have a separate key and remote. Before entering programming mode, ensure you have all the transmitters you’ll use on the vehicle. Once programmed, all previous codes will be erased from memory, and other transmitters won’t function until reprogrammed.

1. Close and lock all doors using the driver’s side power lock/unlock switch.
2. Insert the key into the ignition and remove it from the ignition key cylinder at least six times within 10 seconds. Successful completion of this step will cause your Hazard Lamps to flash. Note: Fully withdraw the key each time. If done too quickly, the system won’t enter programming mode.
3. Insert the key into the ignition cylinder and turn it to the ACC position.
4. Within 5 seconds, press ANY button on the remote transmitter. Your Hazard Lamps should flash. Note: Press the button only once. Pressing it more than once will hinder successful programming.
5. If there are remaining transmitters, unlock then lock all doors using the driver’s side power lock/unlock switch and, within 5 seconds, press ANY button on the next remote. Your Hazard Lamps should flash. Repeat this step for each transmitter, including existing ones.
6. Turn the key to the OFF position, remove the keys from the ignition. Then, unlock doors using the driver’s side power lock/unlock and open the driver’s side door. Even if your original key and remote were separate, you can upgrade to a key with built-in remote buttons.

Instructions for Smart Key System:

Use these instructions if you have the smart key system. This vehicle is not onboard programmable and requires a qualified professional to program smart key remote fobs.

1. Locate an automotive locksmith in your area using LocateALocksmith.com.
2. If your vehicle is still mobile, consider driving to the locksmith instead of having them come to you.
3. The locksmith will then hook up specialized computer equipment to your vehicle to program the smart key remote fob.
