Step-by-Step Programming Instructions:

These programming procedures are exclusive to USA-built vehicles. If the first digit of your 17-digit VIN number starts with a 1 or 4, you can proceed with these instructions. However, if your VIN number starts with a 2, 3, or a letter, these procedures WILL NOT WORK.

Can I program a new key myself if I have no working keys? Yes, after obtaining the new key cut by a locksmith, follow these instructions:

1. Insert a newly cut key into the ignition and turn the key to the ON position for 10 minutes and 30 seconds.
2. Within 45 seconds, turn the key to OFF and then back to the ON position for another 10 minutes and 30 seconds.
3. Within 45 seconds, repeat the previous step.
4. Turn the key OFF, then back ON. The key is now programmed. Start the vehicle to test the key.

Can I program a duplicate key for this vehicle? Yes, after obtaining the new key cut by a locksmith, follow these instructions:

1. Insert an existing programmed working key into the ignition cylinder.
2. Turn the ignition to the ON position for 5 seconds, then back to the OFF position.
3. Remove the existing key, and within 5 seconds, insert the new key and turn it to the ON position for 5 seconds.
4. Turn the key OFF, then back to ON. The key is now programmed. Start the vehicle to test the key.
