Step-by-Step Programming Instructions:

1. Begin by turning the ignition to the OFF position.
2. Locate the Data Link Connector, which is a black 16-pin connector positioned under the driver’s side dash, near your right knee. You’ll need to look up into the dash from below to find it.
3. Ground pin 1 of the Data Link Connector by connecting a wire or paperclip from pin 1 to pin 4. Pin 4 serves as the ground, so shorting pin 1 to pin 4 effectively grounds it. Grounding pin 1 signals the system that you’re ready to reprogram it.
4. Ensure all of your doors are closed.
5. Turn the key to the ACC position, then back off. The power door locks will lock and unlock, indicating that the system is prepared for reprogramming.
6. Press any button on your key fob; the specific button doesn’t matter.
7. If you have a second key fob, press a button on the second fob within one minute of pressing a button on the first one. Both fobs must be programmed simultaneously. If you only have one fob, press a button two more times to indicate that you have only one.
8. The doors will lock and unlock to signal that the codes have been received.
9. Remove the jumper wire from the data connector.
10. Finally, turn the key off.
