Step-by-Step Programming Instructions:

You can indeed program a new key yourself if you don’t have any working keys. Here’s how:

1. Once you’ve had the transponder key cut by a Locksmith, insert the new key into the ignition and turn it to the ON position (without starting the engine). The security light on the dashboard will flash for fifteen minutes.

2. After the security light stops flashing, turn the ignition OFF and then back to the ON position. The security light will flash for another fifteen minutes.

3. Repeat the process of turning the ignition OFF and then back to the ON position when the security light stops flashing, for a total of three times.

4. After the security light stops flashing for the third time, turn the key to the OFF position. Then, turn it back to the ON position. The security light should stop flashing, indicating that the new key has been programmed.

5. Finally, start the vehicle to test the new key.

If you have one working key and want to program a second key yourself, follow these steps:

1. After having a locksmith cut the transponder chip key, insert the existing working key into the ignition and turn it to the ON position. Then, turn it back to the OFF position.

2. Within 5 seconds, insert the new key into the ignition and turn it to the ON position. The security light will light up for 2 seconds to indicate successful programming. Turn the key to the OFF position.

3. Start the vehicle to test the new key.
