Step-by-Step Programming Instructions:

This procedure is intended for the 2017 Acadia equipped with a standard keyless remote. Please note that this vehicle cannot be programmed onboard and requires the assistance of a qualified professional to program smart key remote fobs.

1. Find an automotive locksmith in your area using LocateALocksmith.com.
2. If your vehicle is still operational, consider driving to the locksmith to potentially save on service fees.
3. The locksmith will connect specialized computer equipment to your vehicle to program the smart key remote fob.

**Procedure for PEPSSmart Key Remote Programming with Recognized Transmitters:**

This procedure is for programming the PEPSSmart Key Remote on the 2017 Acadia when there are two recognized transmitters.

To program:

1. Place the two recognized transmitters in the cup holder.
2. Remove the key lock cylinder cap on the driver door handle and insert the vehicle key of the new transmitter into the cylinder. Turn the key counterclockwise to the unlock position five times within 10 seconds. The Driver Information Center (DIC) will display “READY FOR REMOTE #2, 3, 4, etc.”
3. Insert the new transmitter into the transmitter pocket located inside the center console storage area.
4. Press ENGINE START/STOP. The DIC will indicate readiness for programming the next transmitter.
5. Remove the transmitter from the pocket and press the UNLOCK or LOCK button. Repeat steps 3–5 for additional transmitters. To exit programming mode, press and hold ENGINE START/STOP for 12 seconds.
6. Place the key back into the transmitter.

**Programming without Recognized Transmitters:**

If two recognized transmitters are not available, follow this procedure to program up to eight transmitters. This feature is not available in Canada and will take approximately 30 minutes to complete.

1. Remove the key lock cylinder cap on the driver door handle and insert the transmitter key. Turn the key counterclockwise to the unlock position five times within 10 seconds. The DIC will display “REMOTE LEARN PENDING, PLEASE WAIT.”
2. Wait for 10 minutes until the DIC displays “PRESS ENGINE START BUTTON TO LEARN,” then press ENGINE START/STOP. The DIC will again display “REMOTE LEARN PENDING, PLEASE WAIT.”
3. Repeat step 2 two additional times. After the third time, previously known transmitters will no longer work.
4. Place the new transmitter into the transmitter pocket.
5. Press ENGINE START/STOP. When the transmitter is learned, the DIC will indicate readiness to program the next transmitter.
6. Remove the transmitter from the pocket and press the UNLOCK or LOCK button. Repeat steps 4–6 for additional transmitters. To exit programming mode, press and hold ENGINE START/STOP for 12 seconds.
7. Put the key back into the transmitter.
