Step-by-Step Programming Instructions:

If your Ford F150 utilizes the flip key system, follow these instructions. You can program up to eight keys for your vehicle. To program a key yourself, you’ll need two previously programmed keys. If you have only one programmed key, you can rent a programmer.

Please thoroughly read and understand the entire procedure before starting:

1. Insert the first previously programmed key into the ignition and turn it from the OFF position to the ON position. Maintain the ignition in the ON position for at least one second but no more than ten seconds.
2. Turn the ignition back to the OFF position to remove the first programmed key from the ignition.
3. After three seconds but within ten seconds of removing the first programmed key, insert the second previously programmed key into the ignition and turn it from the OFF position to the ON position. Maintain the ignition in the ON position for at least one second but no more than ten seconds.
4. Turn the ignition back to the OFF position to remove the second programmed key from the ignition.
5. After three seconds but within ten seconds of removing the second programmed key, insert the new unprogrammed key (new key/valet key) into the ignition and turn it from the OFF position to the ON position. Maintain the ignition in the ON position for at least one second but no more than ten seconds. This step will program your new key to a programmed key.
6. To program additional new unprogrammed keys, repeat Steps 1 through 5. If successful, the new programmed key(s) will start the vehicle’s engine and operate the remote functions.

If your Ford F150 has the smart key system, follow these instructions. You must have two previously programmed intelligent access keys inside your vehicle and the new unprogrammed intelligent access keys readily accessible. If you don’t have two programmed keys available, you will need a local locksmith to program a key for you. Make sure your vehicle is off before beginning this procedure. Ensure all doors are closed before starting and remain closed throughout the procedure. Perform all steps within 30 seconds of starting the sequence. Stop and wait for at least one minute before starting again if you perform any steps out of sequence. Read and understand the entire procedure before you begin:

1. Place the first programmed key in the backup slot in the center console, then press the push-button ignition switch. Insert the first previously programmed coded key into the ignition.
2. Wait five seconds and then press the push-button ignition switch again. Switch the ignition from off to on. Keep the ignition on for at least three seconds but no more than ten seconds.
3. Remove the intelligent access key. Switch the ignition off and remove the first coded key from the ignition.
4. Within ten seconds, place a second programmed intelligent access key in the backup slot. Press the push-button ignition switch. After three seconds but within ten seconds of switching the ignition off, insert the second previously coded key into the ignition.
5. Wait five seconds and then press the push-button ignition switch again. Switch the ignition from off to on. Keep the ignition on for at least three seconds but no more than ten seconds.
6. Remove the intelligent access key. Switch the ignition off and remove the second previously programmed coded key from the ignition.
7. Place the unprogrammed intelligent access key in the backup slot and press the push-button ignition switch. After three seconds but within ten seconds of switching the ignition off and removing the previously programmed coded key, insert the new unprogrammed key into the ignition. Programming is now complete. Verify the remote control functions operate and your vehicle starts with the new intelligent access key. If programming was not successful, wait ten seconds and repeat Steps 1 through 7.
