Step-by-Step Programming Instructions:

Adding a new key to your vehicle can be done when you have two recognized keys available. Here’s how:

For a Tahoe with a front bench seat:
1. Place the two recognized remote keys on the passenger seat.
2. Navigate to the DIC menu and select “Remote Key Learn.” The DIC will display READY FOR REMOTE #3, 4, 5, ETC.
3. Insert the new remote key into the backup pocket in the lower console bin.
4. Press ENGINE START/STOP. Once the remote key is learned, the DIC will indicate readiness to program the next remote key.
5. Remove the remote key from the backup location and press UNLOCK or LOCK on the remote key. To program additional remote keys, repeat steps 3–5. After all additional remote keys are programmed, press and hold ENGINE START/STOP for approximately 12 seconds to exit programming mode.

For a Tahoe without a front bench seat:
1. Follow steps 1–4 above.
2. Instead of the lower console bin, place the new remote key into the backup pocket in the left cup holder.
3. Follow steps 4 and 5 as outlined above.

Programming Without Recognized Remote Keys:

If you don’t have two currently recognized remote keys available:
1. Locate an automotive locksmith in your area using LocateALocksmith.com.
2. If your vehicle is still mobile, it may save you money by driving to the locksmith instead of having them come to you.
