Step-by-Step Programming Instructions:

Canadian owners should consult a locksmith or dealer. It’s important to note that this procedure is not available when the maximum number of four fobs have been programmed. If four key fobs are already programmed to the RCDLR and this method is attempted, the driver information center (DIC) will display “MAX FOBS LEARNED” and the programming procedure will exit. This procedure adds key fobs, numbering them in sequence based on when they are programmed. For example, if two fobs are currently programmed to the RCDLR, a fob programmed using this method will be numbered as “Fob 3.” You will need a known good key fob, a replacement key fob, and the vehicle’s mechanical key.

1. Turn off the vehicle.
2. Place a known key fob and the new un-programmed key fob inside the vehicle.
3. At the rear of the vehicle, insert the vehicle key into the rear compartment lock cylinder, located above the license plate. Open the trunk and cycle the key five times within five seconds.
4. The DIC will display: “READY FOR FOB X (X = fob 2, 3, or 4).”
5. Place the new un-programmed key fob in the glove box fob pocket with the buttons facing the passenger side.
6. A beep will occur, and the DIC will display: “READY FOR FOB X (X = fob 3 or 4) or MAX FOBS LEARNED.”
7. Press the OFF/ACC portion of the ignition switch to exit programming mode.
8. Test the remote.

Programming without a Recognized Transmitter: Canadian owners should consult a locksmith or dealer.

1. Turn off the vehicle.
2. Place the new un-programmed key fob in the glove box transmitter pocket with the buttons facing the passenger side.
3. At the rear of the vehicle, insert the vehicle key into the rear compartment lock cylinder, located above the license plate. Open the trunk and cycle the key five times within five seconds.
4. The DIC message will display “OFF-ACCESSORY TO LEARN.”
5. Press the ignition switch.
6. The DIC will read “WAIT 10 MINUTES” and will count down to zero, one minute at a time.
7. The DIC will display “OFF-ACCESSORY TO LEARN” again.
8. Press the ignition switch.
9. The DIC will read “WAIT 10 MINUTES” and will count down to zero, one minute at a time.
10. The DIC will display “OFF-ACCESSORY TO LEARN” again.
11. Press the ignition switch.
12. The DIC will read “WAIT 10 MINUTES” and will count down to zero, one minute at a time.
13. A beep will sound, and the DIC will read “READY FOR FOB #1.” At this time, all previously programmed key fobs have been erased.
14. Once the key fob is recognized and programmed, a beep will sound, and the DIC will display “READY FOR FOB #2.”
15. If you have additional key fobs to program, take key fob #1 out of the transmitter pocket and place key fob #2 in the pocket. This can be done repeatedly until up to four key fobs have been programmed. The DIC will then display “MAX # FOBS LEARNED” and will exit the programming mode. When you are done programming key fobs, press the ignition switch.
