Step-by-Step Programming Instructions:

1. Find the Data Link Port beneath the driver’s side dashboard. Ensure you identify pins 8 and 4. Note that the port is wider at the top. Your OBDII port won’t be numbered, so refer to the diagram for guidance.

2. Confirm there are metal contact pins in terminals 8 and 4. Connect terminal 8 to 4 using a suitable jumper wire (keep the jumper wire connected throughout the programming process). Ensure you’re aware of which terminals are 8 and 4. The vehicle will respond by locking and unlocking the doors to indicate entering programming mode.

3. Simultaneously press and hold both the LOCK and UNLOCK buttons on the first transmitter to be programmed. After approximately 15 seconds, the vehicle will respond by locking and unlocking the doors. Release the buttons on the transmitter.

4. Within one minute, repeat the previous step for the remaining transmitters to be programmed.

5. Remove the jumper wire from the OBDII Port. If the above procedure doesn’t work, there have been reports that the following procedure worked for the 1996 Blazer:

DATALINK CONNECTOR Procedure:

1. Locate the Data Link Connector (DLC) underneath the driver’s side dashboard. Use the figure as a reference for your DLC (they aren’t lettered on your vehicle). The view is straight into the cavities of the DLC.

2. Connect cavity G with a ground using a fused jumper wire. Your vehicle will respond by locking and unlocking the door locks within 2 seconds.

3. Press any button on the first remote to be programmed. The locks will lock and unlock, verifying the remote was programmed.

4. Press any button on the second remote to be programmed, if applicable. The locks will lock and unlock to verify the remote was programmed.

5. Remove the jumper wire and test the remote(s).
