Step-by-Step Programming Instructions:

These programming procedures are applicable only to vehicles manufactured in the USA. Can I program a new key myself if I have no working keys? Yes, once you have had the new key cut by a locksmith, follow these instructions:

1. Insert a newly cut key into the ignition and turn the key to the ON position for 10 minutes and 15 seconds.
2. Within 45 seconds, turn the key to OFF and then back to the ON position for 10 minutes and 15 seconds.
3. Within 45 seconds, repeat step 2.
4. Turn the key OFF, then back ON. The key is now programmed. Start the vehicle to test the key.

Can I program a duplicate key for this vehicle? Yes, once you have had the new key cut by a locksmith, follow these instructions:

1. Insert an existing programmed working key into the ignition cylinder.
2. Turn the ignition to the ON position for 5 seconds, then back to the OFF position.
3. Remove the existing key and within 5 seconds, insert the new key and turn it to the ON position for 5 seconds.
4. Turn the key OFF, then back to ON. The key is now programmed. Start the vehicle to test the key.

If your vehicle has the (PEPS) Passive Entry Passive Start system, follow the instructions below:

– A new transmitter can be programmed to the vehicle when there is one recognized transmitter. To program, the vehicle must be off and all of the transmitters, both currently recognized and new, must be with you.

1. Place the recognized transmitter(s) in the rear cupholder in the center console.
2. Remove the key lock cylinder cap on the driver door handle. Insert the vehicle key of the new transmitter into the key lock cylinder on the driver door handle and turn the key to the unlock position five times within 10 seconds. The Driver Information Center (DIC) displays READY FOR REMOTE #2, 3, 4 or 5, 6, 7, or 8.
3. Replace the recognized transmitter with a new transmitter. Place the new transmitter in the rear cupholder in the center console.
4. Press ENGINE START/STOP. When the transmitter is learned, the DIC will show that it is ready to program the next transmitter.
5. Remove the transmitter from the transmitter pocket and press Lock or Unlock. To program additional transmitters, repeat Steps 3 through 5. When all additional transmitters are programmed, press and hold ENGINE START/STOP for twelve seconds to exit programming mode.
6. Put the key back in the transmitter.

If there are no currently recognized transmitters available, follow this procedure to program up to eight transmitters. This feature is not available in Canada. This procedure will take approximately 30 minutes to complete. The vehicle must be off, and all of the transmitters to be programmed must be with you.

1. Remove the key lock cylinder cap on the driver door handle. Insert the vehicle key of the transmitter into the key lock cylinder on the driver door handle and turn the key to the unlock position five times within 10 seconds. The Driver Information Center (DIC) displays REMOTE LEARN PENDING, PLEASE WAIT.
2. Wait for 10 minutes until the DIC displays PRESS ENGINE START BUTTON TO LEARN and then press ENGINE START/STOP. The DIC display will again show REMOTE LEARN PENDING, PLEASE WAIT.
3. Repeat Step 2 two additional times. After the third time, all previously known transmitters will no longer work with the vehicle. Remaining transmitters can be relearned during the next steps. The DIC display should now show READY FOR REMOTE #1.
4. Place the new transmitter into the rear cupholder in the center console.
5. Press ENGINE START/STOP. When the transmitter is learned, the DIC will show that it is ready to program the next transmitter.
6. Remove the transmitter from the cupholder and press Lock or Unlock. To program additional transmitters, repeat Steps 4 through 6.
