Step-by-Step Programming Instructions:

For Ford Fusion models equipped with the remote/flip key system, follow these steps to program a new key:

1. Ensure you have two previously programmed keys and the new unprogrammed key accessible. If you lack two programmed keys, seek assistance from a Locksmith to obtain and program a second key. Alternatively, if you have one working key, you can rent a programmer.
2. Insert the first previously programmed key into the ignition and switch it from off to on. Maintain the ignition on for at least three seconds, but no longer than 10 seconds.
3. Turn the ignition off and remove the first programmed key.
4. Within 10 seconds of turning off the ignition, insert the second previously programmed key and switch the ignition from off to on. Keep the ignition on for at least three seconds, but no more than 10 seconds.
5. Turn the ignition off and remove the second programmed key.
6. Within 10 seconds of turning off the ignition and removing the second programmed key, insert the new unprogrammed key into the ignition.
7. Switch the ignition from off to on and maintain the ignition on for at least six seconds.
8. Remove the newly programmed key from the ignition. If successfully programmed, the key will start the engine and operate the remote entry system if applicable. If not successful, wait 10 seconds and repeat Steps 1 through 8.

For Ford Fusion models with the smart key system, please note the following instructions:

– You can program a maximum of four smart keys to your vehicle.
– Ensure you have two previously programmed keys and the new unprogrammed key accessible. If you lack two previously programmed keys, you will need a Locksmith to cut and program a second key. Alternatively, if you have one working key, you can rent a programmer.
– Ensure the vehicle is off before starting the procedure. Also, ensure all doors are closed throughout the procedure.
– Perform all steps within 30 seconds of starting the sequence. If you perform any steps out of sequence, stop and wait for at least one minute before starting again.
– Place a programmed smart key in the backup slot in the center console with the key ring at the top and the buttons facing toward the rear.
– Wait 5 seconds, then press the START/STOP button.
– Remove the smart key.
– Within 10 seconds, place a second programmed smart key in the backup slot and press the START/STOP button.
– Wait 5 seconds, then press the START/STOP button again.
– Remove the smart key.
– Wait 5 seconds, then place the unprogrammed smart key in the backup slot and press the START/STOP button.
– Programming is complete. Verify the remote control functions operate and the vehicle starts with the new intelligent smart key. If programming was not successful, wait 10 seconds and repeat Steps 1 through 7.
