Step-by-Step Programming Instructions:

Here are the instructions for programming keys and transmitters for different types of vehicles:

Programming Ignition Keys:

1. With Two Working Keys:
– Insert the first programmed key into the ignition and turn it on.
– Turn the ignition off and remove the key.
– Within five seconds, insert the second programmed key into the ignition and turn it on.
– Turn the ignition off and remove the key.
– Insert the new key to be programmed and turn the ignition on within five seconds. The security light will turn off once the key has been programmed.
– Repeat Steps 1–5 if additional keys are to be programmed.

2. Without Two Programmed Keys:
– This procedure requires approximately 30 minutes to complete for the first key.
– Insert the new vehicle key into the ignition and turn the ignition on. The security light will come on.
– Wait for 10 minutes until the security light turns off.
– Turn the ignition off.
– Repeat Steps 2–4 two more times. After the third time, turn the ignition on; the key is programmed, and all previously programmed keys will no longer work with the vehicle.

Programming Recognized Transmitters (Keyless Access Vehicles Only):

1. With Two Recognized Transmitters:
– Remove the key from a recognized transmitter.
– Place the recognized transmitters in the cupholder or passenger seat.
– Insert the vehicle key into the key lock cylinder on the driver door handle and turn it counterclockwise to the unlock position five times within 10 seconds. The Driver Information Center (DIC) displays READY FOR REMOTE #2, 3, 4, ETC.
– Place the new transmitter in the transmitter pocket/insert.
– Press the ENGINE START/STOP button. When the transmitter is learned, the DIC display will indicate that it is ready to program the next transmitter.
– Remove the transmitter from the transmitter pocket and press unlock or lock on the transmitter. Repeat the process for additional transmitters.
– Press and hold the ENGINE START/STOP button for approximately 12 seconds to exit programming mode.

2. Without a Recognized Transmitter:
– Remove the vehicle key from the transmitter.
– Insert the vehicle key into the key lock cylinder on the driver door handle and turn it counterclockwise to the unlock position five times within 10 seconds. The DIC displays REMOTE LEARN PENDING, PLEASE WAIT.
– Wait for 10 minutes until the DIC displays PRESS ENGINE START BUTTON TO LEARN, then press the ENGINE START/STOP button.
– Repeat Step 3 two additional times. After the third time, all previously known transmitters will no longer work with the vehicle. Remaining transmitters can be relearned during the next steps.
– Place the new transmitter in the transmitter pocket/insert.
– Press the ENGINE START/STOP button. When the transmitter is learned, the DIC display will indicate that it is ready to program the next transmitter.
– Remove the transmitter from the transmitter pocket/insert and press unlock or lock on the transmitter. Repeat the process for additional transmitters.
– Press and hold the ENGINE START/STOP button for approximately 12 seconds to exit programming mode.
