Step-by-Step Programming Instructions:

Programming with a Recognized Transmitter: Canadian owners are advised to consult a locksmith or dealer. It’s crucial to note that this procedure is unavailable when the maximum of 4 key fobs have been programmed. If 4 key fobs are already programmed, attempting this method will prompt the Driver Information Center (DIC) to display “MAX FOBS LEARNED,” exiting the programming procedure. This process will add key fobs, numbered sequentially based on when they are programmed. For instance, if 2 key fobs are currently programmed, a key fob programmed using this method will be designated as “Fob 3.” This procedure necessitates a known good key fob, a replacement key fob, and the vehicle’s mechanical key. Follow these steps:

1. Ensure the vehicle is off.
2. Place a known key fob and the new un-programmed key fob inside the vehicle.
3. At the rear of the vehicle, insert the vehicle key into the rear compartment lock cylinder, positioned above the license plate. Open the trunk and cycle the key 5 times within 5 seconds.
4. The DIC will display: “READY FOR FOB X” (X = fob 2, 3, or 4).
5. Put the new un-programmed key fob in the glove box fob pocket with the buttons facing the passenger side.
6. A beep will sound, and the DIC will display: “READY FOR FOB X” (X = fob 3 or 4) or “MAX FOBS LEARNED.”
7. Press the OFF/ACC portion of the ignition switch to exit programming mode.
8. Test the remote.

Programming without a Recognized Transmitter: Canadian owners should consult a locksmith or dealer. Follow these steps:

1. Ensure the vehicle is off.
2. Place the new un-programmed key fob in the glove box transmitter pocket with the buttons facing the passenger side.
3. At the rear of the vehicle, insert the vehicle key into the rear compartment lock cylinder, located above the license plate. Open the trunk and cycle the key 5 times within 5 seconds.
4. The DIC message will display “OFF-ACCESSORY TO LEARN.”
5. Press the ignition switch.
6. The DIC will indicate “WAIT 10 MINUTES” and will count down to zero, one minute at a time.
7. The DIC will display “OFF-ACCESSORY TO LEARN” again.
8. Press the ignition switch.
9. The DIC will indicate “WAIT 10 MINUTES” and will count down to zero, one minute at a time.
10. Repeat Steps 8 and 9 two more times.
11. Press the ignition switch.
12. The DIC will indicate “WAIT 10 MINUTES” and will count down to zero, one minute at a time.
13. A beep will sound, and the DIC will display “READY FOR FOB #1,” indicating that all previously programmed key fobs have been erased.
14. Once the key fob is recognized and programmed, a beep will sound, and the DIC will display “READY FOR FOB #2.”
15. If additional key fobs need to be programmed, remove key fob #1 from the transmitter pocket and place key fob #2 in the pocket. Repeat this process until up to 4 key fobs have been programmed. The DIC will then display “MAX # FOBS LEARNED” and exit the programming mode. Press the ignition switch when finished programming key fobs.
