How to Program a 2019 Ford Fusion Ignition Smart Chip Key Transponder
Step by Step How to Programming Instructions:
Programming with a Recognized Transmitter (Key Vehicles Only):
1. Start with the original programmed key in the ignition, turning it to the ON/RUN position.
2. Turn the key to LOCK/OFF and remove it.
3. Insert the new key within five seconds and turn it to ON/RUN. The security light will turn off once programming is complete.
4. Repeat steps 1-3 for additional keys if needed.
Programming without a Recognized Transmitter (Key Vehicles Only):
1. Insert the new vehicle key and turn to ON/RUN; wait until the security light turns off.
2. Turn the ignition to LOCK/OFF.
3. Repeat steps 1-2 two more times. After the third time, turn to ON/RUN; the key is learned, and previous keys won’t work.
4. Follow the procedure “Programming with a Recognized Key” to learn remaining keys.
Programming with a Recognized Transmitter (Keyless Access Vehicles Only):
1. Place recognized transmitter(s) in the cupholder.
2. Insert the vehicle key into the driver door lock cylinder, turning it counterclockwise five times.
3. Place the new transmitter into the transmitter pocket in the center console.
4. Press the ENGINE START/STOP button; when the transmitter is learned, the DIC will prompt for the next transmitter.
5. Remove the transmitter and press UNLOCK. Repeat for additional transmitters.
6. Press and hold the ENGINE START/STOP button for 12 seconds to exit programming mode when all transmitters are programmed.
Programming without a Recognized Transmitter (Keyless Access Vehicles Only):
1. Insert the vehicle key into the driver door lock cylinder, turning it counterclockwise five times.
2. Wait for the DIC to prompt to press the ENGINE START/STOP button, then press it.
3. Repeat step 2 two more times. After the third time, previously known transmitters won’t work.
4. Place the new transmitter into the transmitter pocket, then press the ENGINE START/STOP button.
5. Remove the transmitter and press UNLOCK. Repeat for additional transmitters.
6. Press and hold the ENGINE START/STOP button for 12 seconds to exit programming mode when all transmitters are programmed.
