Follow these steps if your Ford F250, F350, F450, F550 is equipped with the flip key system. You’ll need two programmed working keys to add a third. Ensure your new key is cut before starting the procedure. Note: Correct speed in turning the key off and on is crucial when entering program mode, and it may take several attempts.

1. Insert the first programmed working key and cycle the key from OFF to Run (not Start) eight times rapidly.
2. Quickly insert the second programmed working key and cycle from OFF to RUN (not Start) twice rapidly. The dash will display the SecuriCode keypad door code.
3. Swiftly insert the new unprogrammed key and cycle from OFF to RUN. The dash should display “Key Programmed”. The hazard lights may flash and door locks cycle. Turn the key off and remove.
4. Test the new key.

Programming Instructions for Ford F250, F350, F450, F550 with Smart Key System:
Follow these steps if your Ford F250, F350, F450, F550 has the smart key system. You’ll need two previously programmed intelligent access keys inside your vehicle and the new unprogrammed intelligent access keys readily accessible. Make sure your vehicle is off before beginning and that all doors are closed throughout the procedure. Perform all steps within 30 seconds of starting the sequence. Stop and wait for at least one minute before starting again if any steps are performed out of sequence. Read and understand the entire procedure before beginning.

1. Remove the key blade from the transmitter.
2. Remove the tray and cover from the center console. Place the first intelligent access key in the backup slot with the buttons facing upward.
3. Press the push-button ignition switch.
4. Wait five seconds, then press the push-button ignition switch again.
5. Remove the intelligent access key.
6. Within 10 seconds, place a second programmed intelligent access key in the backup slot and press the push-button ignition switch.
7. Wait five seconds, then press the push-button ignition switch again.
8. Remove the intelligent access key.
9. Wait five seconds, then place the unprogrammed intelligent access key in the backup slot and press the push-button ignition switch. Programming is now complete. Check that the remote control functions operate and your vehicle starts with the new intelligent access key. If programming was unsuccessful, wait 10 seconds and repeat steps 1 through 7.
