Step by Step How to Programming Instructions:

For Programming with Recognized Transmitters:

1. Ensure the vehicle is turned off and have all transmitters (up to eight) with you.
2. Place two recognized transmitters in the front cupholder.
3. Remove the key lock cylinder cap on the driver door handle. Insert the vehicle key into the cylinder and turn it counterclockwise to the unlock position five times within 10 seconds. The DIC (Driver Information Center) will display “READY FOR REMOTE #2, 3, 4, etc.”
4. Insert the new transmitter into the front cupholder.
5. Press the ENGINE START/STOP button. Once the transmitter is learned, the DIC will indicate readiness for programming the next transmitter.
6. Remove the transmitter from the cupholder and press its Unlock or Lock button. Repeat steps 3–5 for additional transmitters. To exit programming mode, press and hold ENGINE START/STOP for 12 seconds.
7. Return the key to the transmitter and replace the key lock cylinder cap.

For Programming without Recognized Transmitters:

1. With the vehicle off, remove the key lock cylinder cap on the driver door handle. Insert the vehicle key into the cylinder and turn it counterclockwise to the unlock position five times within 10 seconds. The DIC will display “REMOTE LEARN PENDING, PLEASE WAIT.”
2. Wait for 10 minutes until the DIC displays “PRESS ENGINE START BUTTON TO LEARN” and then press ENGINE START/STOP. The DIC will again show “REMOTE LEARN PENDING, PLEASE WAIT.”
3. Repeat step 2 two additional times. After the third time, all previously known transmitters will no longer work with the vehicle. Remaining transmitters can be relearned in the next steps. The DIC should now show “READY FOR REMOTE #1.”
4. Place the new transmitter into the front cupholder.
5. Press ENGINE START/STOP. Once the transmitter is learned, the DIC will indicate readiness for programming the next transmitter.
6. Remove the transmitter from the cupholder and press its Unlock or Lock button. Repeat steps 4–6 for additional transmitters. To exit programming mode, press and hold ENGINE START/STOP for 12 seconds.
7. Return the key to the transmitter and replace the key lock cylinder cap.
