Programming Instructions for Smart Key System:

If you have a Smart Key system, ensure you have two previously programmed keys before adding a third key. If you have only one working key, you can rent a programmer. Have two previously programmed smart keys inside the vehicle and the new unprogrammed smart key readily accessible.

Note: A maximum of four Smart Keys can be programmed to your vehicle. If you want to replace a previously programmed smart key with a new one or if you already have four smart keys programmed, take your vehicle and all access keys to a local locksmith or dealer to be erased and reprogrammed.

Ensure the vehicle is off before starting the procedure. Also, ensure all doors are closed throughout the procedure.

1. Place the new unprogrammed smart key in the pocket inside the center console.
2. Press the driver or passenger power door unlock control three times.
3. Press and release the brake pedal once.
4. Press the driver or passenger power door lock control three times.
5. Press and release the brake pedal once. The indicator on the Start/Stop button should begin to rapidly flash, indicating programming mode has been entered, and two programmed smart keys have been detected in the vehicle.
6. Within one minute, press the Start/Stop button. A message will be displayed on the message center indicating that the new smart key was programmed. If four smart keys have already been programmed to your vehicle, you cannot program anymore, and the message “MAX#OFKEYSLEARNED” will be displayed on the message center.
7. Remove the smart key from the center console pocket and press the unlock button on the newly programmed smart key(s) to exit programming mode.
