How to Program a 2013 Ford C-Max Ignition Smart Chip Key Transponder

Step by Step How to Programming Instructions:

For vehicles equipped with the Remote Head Key System:

1. Begin by ensuring that you already possess two programmed keys. You can program a maximum of 8 keys.
2. Insert the first valid key into the ignition switch and turn it to the “ON” position for 5 seconds.
3. Turn the key to the “OFF” position and remove it.
4. Within 30 seconds of removing the first key, insert the second valid key into the ignition and turn it to the “ON” position. Approximately 10 seconds later, the immobilizer display will start blinking.
5. When the immobilizer display starts blinking, turn the second valid key to the “OFF” position and remove it. Within 30 seconds after doing so, insert a blank immobilizer key into the ignition switch and turn it to the “ON” position. Ensure this operation is completed within 30 seconds of the immobilizer display blinking. When programming is complete, the immobilizer display will come on for 30 seconds and then turn off. If an error occurs, the blinking immobilizer display will go off during the procedure.
6. If you wish to register another key, repeat the process from step 1.

For vehicles equipped with the Fast Key Smart Key System:

You can program new F.A.S.T. keys to the system if you have two valid (already programmed) F.A.S.T. keys and a blank (not programmed) F.A.S.T. key. Follow the procedures below for F.A.S.T. key programming:

1. Open the driver’s door. Note: Keep the driver’s door open until F.A.S.T. key programming is finished. Do not open or close other doors.
2. While carrying the first valid F.A.S.T. key, put the operation mode in ON. (Perform the following procedure within 30 seconds.)
3. Insert the new F.A.S.T. key into the key slot (located above the cup holder in the center console).
4. With the first valid F.A.S.T. key, press the UNLOCK button for 4 to 10 seconds and press the LOCK button during this time.
5. Release in sequence the LOCK and UNLOCK buttons within 10 seconds of pressing the LOCK button in step 4. (Perform the following procedure within 30 seconds.)
6. With the second valid F.A.S.T. key, press the UNLOCK button for 4 to 10 seconds and press the LOCK button during this time.
7. Release in sequence the LOCK and UNLOCK buttons within 10 seconds of pressing the LOCK button in step 6. The immobilizer warning light will blink. When registration of ID code is complete, the buzzer will sound three times, and the immobilizer display will come on for 30 seconds. If an error occurs, F.A.S.T. key programming will be terminated, and the buzzer will sound for 3 seconds.

Note: F.A.S.T. key programming will be terminated if the operation mode is put in OFF before the immobilizer display starts blinking.

8. If you wish to register another F.A.S.T. key, repeat the process from step 1 after the operation mode is put in OFF.

Note: The immobilizer display will go off immediately if the operation mode is put in OFF. It is not possible to register a F.A.S.T. key if the immobilizer display goes off during the procedure.

If all keys are lost with either the Key System or the F.A.S.T. Key System:

This vehicle is not onboard programmable and requires a qualified professional to program smart key remote fobs.

1. Locate an automotive locksmith in your area using LocateALocksmith.com.
2. If your vehicle is still mobile, it may save you money by driving to the locksmith instead of having them come to you.
3. The locksmith will then hook up specialized computer equipment to your vehicle in order to program the smart key remote fob.
