How to Program a 2011 Ford Flex Ignition Smart Chip Key Transponder
Step by Step How to Programming Instructions:
1. If your vehicle has a transponder, programming is only necessary for transponder-equipped vehicles. Ensure you have two valid keys to add a new one. If you lack two working keys, you’ll need a locksmith’s assistance for programming.
2. Begin by inserting the first valid key into the ignition switch. Turn the ignition switch to the ON/RUN position for at least three seconds but no longer than 15 seconds. Then, turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position and remove the first key.
3. Insert the second valid key into the ignition switch. Turn the ignition switch to the ON/RUN position within 15 seconds. After 10 seconds, a chime will sound, and the Vehicle Security Light will start flashing. Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position and remove the second key.
4. Next, insert the new key into the ignition switch. Turn the ignition switch to the ON/RUN position within 60 seconds. After 10 seconds, a single chime will sound, and the Vehicle Security Light will stop flashing. To confirm programming completion, the Vehicle Security Light will turn on for a few seconds and then turn off. Your new key is now programmed. Repeat these steps to program up to eight keys.
