How to Program a 1999 Mazda MPV Ignition Chip Key Transponder

Step by Step How to Programming Instructions:

Adding new RKE transmitters to the system if you already have two valid RKE transmitters:

1. Begin by inserting the first valid key fobik into the ignition switch and turning it to the ON position. Keep it in this position for at least three seconds, but no longer than 15 seconds. Then, turn the ignition switch to the LOCK/OFF position and remove the first key.

2. Next, insert the second valid key fobik and turn the ignition switch to the ON position within 15 seconds. After 10 seconds, you may hear a chime and the Vehicle Security Light will start flashing. Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK/OFF position and remove the second key.

3. Now, insert the NEW key fobik into the ignition switch and turn it to the ON position within 60 seconds. After 10 seconds, a single chime will sound, and the Vehicle Security Light will stop flashing, then turn on again for three seconds before turning off. This indicates that the new key fobik is programmed. The Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) transmitter will also be programmed during this procedure. You can repeat this process to program up to eight keys.

If you don’t have a programmed RKE transmitter with an integrated key or if you don’t have two programmed keys available, you’ll need to contact your authorized dealer for further assistance. Alternatively, a locksmith can help you program two keys.
