How to Program a 2015 Buick Verano Ignition Smart Chip Key Transponder
Step by Step How to Programming Instructions:
If you have two previously programmed keys and a new unprogrammed key ready:
1. Insert the first previously programmed key into the ignition.
2. Switch the ignition from off to on. Keep it on for at least three seconds, but no more than ten seconds.
3. Switch the ignition off and remove the first programmed key.
4. After three seconds but within ten seconds of turning off the ignition, insert the second previously programmed key.
5. Switch the ignition from off to on. Keep it on for at least three seconds, but no more than ten seconds.
6. Switch the ignition off and remove the second previously programmed key.
7. After three seconds but within ten seconds of turning off and removing the previously programmed key, insert the new unprogrammed key.
8. Switch the ignition from off to on. Keep it on for at least six seconds.
9. Remove the newly programmed key from the ignition. If successfully programmed, it will start the engine and operate the remote entry system (if the new key has an integrated key head transmitter). If unsuccessful, wait ten seconds and repeat Steps 1 through 8.
Programming Spare Intelligent Access Keys:
Ensure you have two previously programmed Intelligent Access Keys inside the vehicle and the new unprogrammed keys ready. If not, a locksmith may be needed to program the spare key(s). Note: Up to four Intelligent Access Keys can be programmed to your vehicle. If replacing a previously programmed key or if you already have four keys programmed, a locksmith must do the programming.
Procedure:
1. Place the new unprogrammed Intelligent Access Key in the pocket inside the glove box.
2. Press the driver or passenger power door unlock control three times.
3. Press and release the brake pedal once.
4. Press the driver or passenger power door lock control three times.
5. Press and release the brake pedal once. The Start/Stop button indicator should rapidly flash, indicating programming mode with two programmed Intelligent Access Keys detected.
6. Within one minute, press the Start/Stop button. A message will display on the message center indicating the new key was programmed. If four keys are already programmed, “MAX# OFF OBS LEARNED” will display.
7. Remove from the glove box pocket and press the unlock or lock control on the newly programmed Intelligent Access Keys to exit programming mode.
8. Verify that the remote entry functions operate (lock, unlock) and that the vehicle starts with the new Intelligent Access Key. If successful, it can activate the Intelligent Access with Push Button Start feature and start the vehicle.
