Step-by-Step Programming Instructions:

These programming procedures are specific to vehicles built in the USA and utilize the flip key system. If you need to program a new flip key yourself and have no working keys, follow these instructions:

1. Insert a newly cut key into the ignition and turn it to the ON position for 10 minutes and 15 seconds.
2. Within 45 seconds, turn the key to OFF and then back to the ON position for another 10 minutes and 15 seconds.
3. Repeat step 2.
4. Turn the key OFF and then back ON. The key is now programmed. Start the vehicle to test the key.

For duplicating a flip key for this vehicle:

1. Insert an existing programmed working key into the ignition cylinder.
2. Turn the ignition to the ON position for 5 seconds, then back to the OFF position.
3. Remove the existing key and within 5 seconds, insert the new key and turn it to the ON position for 5 seconds.
4. Turn the key OFF and then back to ON. The key is now programmed. Start the vehicle to test the key.

For vehicles with the Passive Entry Passive Start (PEPS) system, follow these steps:

1. Place the recognized transmitter(s) in the rear cup holder in the center console.
2. Remove the key lock cylinder cap on the driver door handle. Insert the vehicle key of the new transmitter into the key lock cylinder on the driver door handle and turn the key to the unlock position five times within 10 seconds. The Driver Information Center (DIC) will display “READY FOR REMOTE #2, 3, 4, or 5, 6, 7, or 8.”
3. Replace the recognized transmitter with a new one. Place the new transmitter in the rear cup holder in the center console.
4. Press ENGINE START/STOP. When the transmitter is learned, the DIC will indicate readiness to program the next transmitter.
5. Remove the transmitter from the transmitter pocket and press Lock or Unlock. To program additional transmitters, repeat steps 3 through 5. When all additional transmitters are programmed, press and hold ENGINE START/STOP for twelve seconds to exit programming mode.
6. Put the key back in the transmitter.

For programming up to eight transmitters without any currently recognized ones:

1. Remove the key lock cylinder cap on the driver door handle. Insert the vehicle key of the transmitter into the key lock cylinder on the driver door handle and turn the key to the unlock position five times within 10 seconds. The DIC will display “REMOTE LEARN PENDING, PLEASE WAIT.”
2. Wait for 10 minutes until the DIC displays “PRESS ENGINE START BUTTON TO LEARN” and then press ENGINE START/STOP. The DIC display will again show “REMOTE LEARN PENDING, PLEASE WAIT.”
3. Repeat step 2 two additional times. After the third time, all previously known transmitters will no longer work with the vehicle. Remaining transmitters can be relearned during the next steps. The DIC display should now show “READY FOR REMOTE #1.”
4. Place the new transmitter into the rear cup holder in the center console.
5. Press ENGINE START/STOP. When the transmitter is learned, the DIC will indicate readiness to program the next transmitter.
6. Remove the transmitter from the cup holder and press Lock or Unlock. To program additional transmitters, repeat steps 4 through 6.
