Step-by-Step Programming Instructions:

Programming a new key without the Smart Key System and with two recognized keys:

1. Insert the original programmed key into the ignition and turn it to the ON/RUN position.
2. Turn the key to LOCK/OFF and remove it.
3. Quickly, within five seconds, insert the second original programmed key into the ignition and turn it to the ON/RUN position.
4. Turn the key to LOCK/OFF and remove it.
5. Within five seconds, insert the new key to be programmed and turn it to the ON/RUN position. The security light will turn off once the key is programmed.
6. Repeat Steps 1–5 if additional keys need to be programmed.

Programming a new key without two recognized keys and without the Smart Key System:

1. Insert the new key into the ignition.
2. Turn to ON/RUN. The security light will illuminate.
3. Wait for 10 minutes until the security light turns off.
4. Turn the ignition to LOCK/OFF.
5. Repeat Steps 2–4 two more times. After the third time, turn to ON/RUN; the key is learned, and previously known keys will no longer work.
6. To learn the second key, turn to OFF, insert the second key, and rotate to ON/RUN. After two keys are learned, follow the procedure for programming additional keys.

Programming with two recognized transmitters (Keyless Access) and with the Smart Key System:

1. Place the two recognized transmitters in the front cupholder.
2. Insert the vehicle key of the new transmitter into the driver door key lock cylinder and turn it to the unlock position five times within 10 seconds. The DIC displays READY FOR REMOTE #3, 4, or 5.
3. Place the new transmitter in the front cupholder.
4. Press ENGINE START/STOP. When the transmitter is learned, the DIC will indicate readiness to program the next transmitter.
5. Remove the transmitter from the cupholder and press Unlock. Repeat Steps 3–5 for additional transmitters. Press and hold ENGINE START/STOP for 12 seconds to exit programming mode.

Programming without recognized transmitters (Keyless Access) and with the Smart Key System:

1. Insert the vehicle key of the transmitter into the driver door key lock cylinder and turn it to the unlock position five times within 10 seconds. The DIC displays REMOTE LEARN PENDING, PLEASE WAIT.
2. After 10 minutes, the DIC displays PRESS ENGINE START BUTTON TO LEARN. Press ENGINE START/STOP. Repeat this step two more times. After the third time, previously known transmitters will no longer work.
3. The DIC display should now show READY FOR REMOTE #1.
4. Place the new transmitter in the front cupholder.
5. Press ENGINE START/STOP. When the transmitter is learned, the DIC will indicate readiness to program the next transmitter.
6. Remove the transmitter from the cupholder and press Unlock. Repeat Steps 4–6 for additional transmitters. Press and hold ENGINE START/STOP for 10 seconds to exit programming mode.
