Here’s how to add a key to the system, ensuring you have your master Toyota key (black key) ready:

1. Place the black programmed key into the ignition.
2. Within 15 seconds of inserting the key, press and release the accelerator pedal five times.
3. Within 20 seconds of step 2, press and release the brake pedal six times.
4. Take out the black key from the ignition switch.
5. Insert the new unprogrammed key into the ignition within 10 seconds of removing the black key.
6. Within 10 seconds of step 5, press and release the accelerator pedal once.
7. Once done correctly, you’ll notice the immobilizer warning lamp start to flash. After one minute, it will stop flashing. Then, you’ll have 10 seconds to insert an additional key for programming.
8. Within 10 seconds of inserting the key into the ignition, press and release the accelerator pedal once.
9. The immobilizer warning lamp will flash again, and after one minute, it will turn off.
